I had no idea what to expect with K.Flay. I didn’t know anything about her except that she rapped over what I assumed would be cool beats because she has worked with Amp Live before. And that she was a Bay Area artist. And since I’m always down to support local hip-hop, I set out to see her as my first Outside Lands act.

And man, she did not disappoint. K.Flay deejayed most of her set from a laptop but also had a live drummer on stage. The mix of her rapping over remixed indie music with a backing drummer was pretty great. She had lots of energy. Jumping around stage. And the whole time delivering some pretty great rhymes.
