i love a good remix. taking something existing and adding your own twist to it. making it yours. well not mine as i'm not a dj. but ya know.

i never really listened to the original version of biggie's party & bullshit, but i am huge fan of the ratatat remix i posted a while back. it's kinda menacing with its stripped down beat. lots of guitar and fuzzy goodness. the extended chorus. it all adds to the craziness of the bullshit biggie is rapping about.

but this in the usa remix has a totally different vibe. it's more fun and laid back. the beat is slowed down and airy. and fun. it sounds like it would played more at a sunny bbq than at a ny house party.

there's still lots of party in this song. just a lot less bullshit.
