i was thinking the other day, that it was weird that rage against the machine never did a song about dubya. how could a band as political as rage not sing about the most idiotic administration in our history? or 911? or abu ghraib? or wire tapping? or gitmo? or katrina? or whatever bullshit the bush administration pulled on us? but then i also realized rage broke up just before he took office. nice timing.

audioslave wasn't about to delve into politics. and zack de la rocha just disappeared after the breakup. i heard a song or 2 he did. but nothing major.

and sure enough, as bush left office, zack de la rocha came out with one day as a lion. his first project in ages. i'm not all that into the whole lion album yet, but the title track is pretty amazing. zack roaring on top of lots of big drum beats & spacey angsty guitars. very reminiscent of rage. not that i'm complaining. that's when zack is at his best.
