'my sister is having a party,' she said. 'and she can get us beer.' that's how the day began.
how it ended... well that's all kinda fuzzy.
it was the first time i really drank. they got us sophomores genesse. genesee cream ale actually. it was awful. i had to eat chips with every swig i took. but i was on a mission. i was gonna get drunk.
this is where things get fuzzy. i remember being stupid, talkin smack, making a fool of myself, seeing lots of people from central i hadnt seen since i moved. and then... she walked in.
i barely knew her, but i was always in awe of her. she knew so much about music, all the cool bands and shit. and she was just so damn cool. and there i was, a babbling idiot, half passed out on the couch.
i watched as she walked past me. over to the tv. bent down and popped a tape into the vcr.
her pink hair twirlling all around as she spun and got up. 'hey d!' she seemed surprised to see me. 'havent seen you in a while.' she smiled as she said 'i think you'll like this.'
a quiet jangle of guitars slowly started emanating from the tv. and i turned to see the charlatans start one of my favorite songs as she walked away.
'how did she know i liked this song? how did she know?' i kept thinking over and over as i slowly passed out.
